Several government agencies in NW Oregon have
boundaries that take in areas so large that they cover multiple cities
and counties. Some of these agencies' policies have a direct affect on
real estate. Others provide services that are useful to everyone,
regardless of whether they own property.
A list of the larger agencies serving NW
Oregon is provided below:

with board appointed by Oregon governor.

Portland International Airport (PDX).

three regional airports at Hillsboro, Troutdale and Mulino.

Manages
rail and marine shipping facilities around Portland metro area.

service district encompassing much of Clackamas, Multnomah and
Washington counties, including more than two dozen cities.

variety of regional facilities including Oregon Zoo, Oregon Convention
Center, Portland Expo Center, various parks and wetlands, waste

region-wide land use planning throughout the above three counties.
