Getting pre-qualified means providing basic financial facts to help determine a reasonable cap on the purchase price you should consider. This doesn't lock you into a specific price; it helps you shop more wisely by showing how much you can reasonably afford and giving you an idea of what your monthly mortgage payments and interest should be.
